How To Keep Your Laptop ON When the Lid is Closed in Windows 7/Vista

If, whatever reasons, you find the need to keep your laptop running with the lid closed but not sure how to do it - here's how:

• Left-click  on the power icon on the right side of windows taskbar.

Then click on More power options (as seen right above the icon).

You will then see a screen similar to the one below:

Click on Change plan settings on the selected power plan.
Then click Change advanced power settings:

In the Power Options window, expand Power buttons and lid and Lid close action.

Change it to Do nothing on both On battery and Plugged in based on your preference:

Click Ok and there you have it!  Your laptop is now officially acting like a desktop! lol
