✍ FYI: Google Trends

For Your Information...
Google Trends
Have you ever wondered what the rest of the world is talking about or searching on google?  What's the latest trend, say like, Exploring the Flu Trends across the US...
Well, Google has a site called Google Trends that does just that!  It is good if you're doing research or project on a particular site or current situation or just plain curious about what's trending right now.  Sure there's Twitter but Google Trends include some of these RTs (twitter retweets) in their searches.  When you get to the site you will see two topics:
  • Hot Searches - you can see a snapshot of what’s on the public’s collective mind by viewing the fastest-rising searches for different points of time. You can see a list of today’s top 40 fastest-rising search queries in the U.S. You can also select a recent date in history to see what the top rising searches were and what the search activity looked like over the course of that day. Hot Searches are updated hourly.
  • Hot Topics - allows you to see a snapshot of what people are saying, by viewing the topics with the most buzz in the news, on Twitter, FriendFeed, or on other similar sources. Hot Topics are updated regularly.
With Google Trends, you can compare the world’s interest in your favorite topics. Enter up to five topics and see how often they’ve been searched on Google over time. Google Trends also shows how frequently your topics have appeared in Google News stories, and in which geographic regions people have searched for them most.
Check it out!
