Is Drinking 8 Glasses of Water a Day Really Necessary?

The debate seems ongoing about how much water should we drink a day. Some say you must drink eight 8-oz. glasses of water a day to maintain proper health and nutrition, while others say the equivalent of a 2-litre pop bottle and a half is ideal and still others say it doesn’t have to be just water as long as you get about two liters of fluids a day. Confusing - isn't it?
